Do You Love Him - A Call To Action

Psa 91:14-16 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hathknown my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

The word used for love is the word חַשׁק ḥāšaq: “A verb meaning to be attached to, to love, to delight in, to bind.”

Luke 10:27, Mark 12:30, Matthew 22:37... Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is Jesus speaking and the word that He uses her for love is ἀγαπάω agapáō; which indicating a direction of the will and finding one's joy in something or someone. It differs from philéō (G5368), to love, indicating feelings, warm affection.

To love God is not a warm fuzzy feeling. To love God is a call to action. To love Him requires all your heart, soul and mind.

Is He all you think about, does your heart leap with joy when you find you have a free afternoon to devote to Him in prayer?
When you open your bible does expectancy start to fill you as you know He will speak to you? When you worship him does time stand still, are you lost in His presence. From the moment you wake till your head hits the pillow is he your all in all?

When we choose to love God we are laying down our lives. It’s not longer our purposes, our plans it becomes all about Him. Carolyn many times has spoken about Jesus as her divine obsession. I am convinced that is an essential element of the life of a Christian. If He is not your divine obsession, do you love Him, do you know Him?

If you love someone it’s easy to do the things you know make them happy. When you are truly lost in love with someone, it becomes impossible to contemplate doing anything that would offend them. This is why the Apostle John said ’For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.’ 1 John 5v3 and in the previous verse“ By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.” the Apostle Paul said “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” Romans 6:1-2

Grace isn’t a license to sin, it is freedom from sin.

There is none more passionate about you that Jesus Christ. He is the lover of your soul. He desires you to reach heights you haven’t imagine. Jesus is for you. To live one day in the life Jesus has for you brings more fulfillment than 1000 years doing your own thing.

I know this, that when I love Jesus everything works. When He is first in my life, when He is my passion, I am a better father and better husband.

You were created to Love Him

My prayer is that you step into that which you have been created for.
