True prayer is not a mere mental exercise, nor a vocal performance. Prayer is born in hearts of man and God; it is the very breath of life, It is the place of communion.
Heavens satisfaction demands that it is my soul that cries to my savour, empty words, a vocal performance will never reach the heart of my king. He is my Lord and is worth so much more than my performance.
As I pray, as I breathe out simple words everything happens, everything changes, nothing is the same. Oh, it may look the same to my natural eyes, but then the things of this world so easily bewilder the natural man. It is the spiritual man that sees, that knows that he has laid his petitions before the great monarch of the universe and as children coming to their father, and as faithful citizens to their king, they shall have their requests. For we come to the throne of grace the place where we see sovereignty manifesting itself in resplendent grace. It is the place of fellowship between the human spirit and the Great Spirit and God is looking for those who will approach with un-staggering confidence, with enlarged expectations.
God’s thoughts are not your thoughts, and his ways are not your ways. Why bring before King small and safe prayers, audacious faith should be predominant before the mercy seat, as high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are his ways above your ways, and his thoughts above your thoughts. Bring before this royal throne enlarged expectations for then he would do for us exceeding abundantly above what we ask or think. God is glorified when we bear much fruit; Jesus said that if we believe in him that we would do greater works and He goes on to say whatever we ask He will do.
God is looking for faith in the earth, Jesus said that if we had faith and did not doubt that nothing would be impossible to us, he says whatever we ask if we believe we will received. You live under an open heaven; you don’t have to pray your way into the throne room you are already there. You are seated with Him in heavenly places.
The call has gone out, the invitation has been sent, you have been invited by royal decree to ask anything of your king.
What would Majesty do for you?
As you pluck up the courage you begin to speak and before the last word stumbles past your lips suddenly you know in your heart that it has been done.
With tears of joy and overcome by the emotion of years of hardship and disappointment, you forget protocol and fall at the feet of your king, thanking Him over and over, telling Him how much you love Him and will live the rest of your life to honour Him.
As you, begin to recover your composure, slightly embarrassed you stand and as you are about to leave the king says, “Stop” for a moment you think “what have I done, has He changed his mind” and as you are brought back before him even closer than before you hear these words.
“what else”?
He looks at you, His eyes are upon you and He is listening.
(1Peter 3:12) “What Else”?
